THE WORKSHOP
The earth is a matter that lets itself shaped, participates in the regulation of the internal humidity of an environment and allows many creative languages. Preparing a plaster using earth requires some knowledge of matter and little energy, without any chemical transformation. Earthen plasters are mainly used as interior coatings. Like the membrane that covers our body, plaster is a kind of skin and adapts to the shapes it encounters. It is the first element we notice in an environment, that creates a certain atmosphere. The earthen surfaces can be refined and make an elegant interior, while declaring the aesthetic characteristics of the environment through color, texture or decorative interventions.
WORKSHOP SITE
The workshop will take place in one of the porches of the historic buildings (1800) of the Cantina Aru, located in the Cixerri Valley in Iglesias, on the border with Villamassargia.
The historic buildings of the 1800s are mainly built with raw earth.
